Hallo! I’m Danielle. Thanks for stopping by.
I am a lifestyle writer, editor, styler, and translator based in the city of Berlin, an influential capital of grungy beauty, passionate humans, and uncomfortable honesty. Such a setting forms the context and inspiration for my work. To write, for me, is not simply a pastime or academic discipline. The written word is the canvas of thought that compels action. A workshop of ideas, always changing its product and inviting others into the process. Writing brings life and demands pain. It helps form the lens through which we see and live each moment. Crafting words is namely, my art.
But to write is also to theologize, read, wander, and adventure. And this is what has brought me to Berlin. I’ve been writing for publications since I was sixteen when I became managing editor for my south Florida school paper. This began a path that led me to study Communications and Theology at a college in Chicago. It was here that my love for cities and global community was fostered, compelling me to look beyond my country’s borders and partake of new cultures. Two months after graduating, I packed up my life and made an unexpected move to the Black Forest of Germany to live life with students of an international boarding school. Compelled by the stories I discovered while there, I moved to Berlin in order to pursue my passion of creating through community to help tell others’ stories.
So drop a line or follow along. I’d love to hear your story as I share mine and the city’s.
